Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions
The website eReads SA allows a person (“user”) to place electronic orders (“order”) for one or more products on offer as long as such products are available.
A purchasing contract (“sale”) between the user and eReads SA shall be complete only once a user has placed an order and the payment has been processed fully, meaning eReads SA has received and accepted the payment.
If a credit card payment fails due to the account not existing, insufficient funds, the credit card number or other information being incorrect etc. the purchase will not be successful.
If you have any issues with payment, please contact us on info@ereads.co.za
If it happens that eReads SA is unable to fulfil any order at the advertised price for any reason, eReads SA will let you know and you’ll be entitled to a reimbursement for the rand value you have paid for such product.
Gift Cards & Promotions
Gift Cards
Gift cards can only be used to make purchases on the eReads SA website.
You may purchase gift vouchers yourself or you may receive them as a gift from a friend. These gift vouchers can be printed at home or can be sent to you or your chosen recipient via email.
Gift vouchers cannot be used to buy further gift vouchers.
Gift cards cannot be transferred to anyone else and will only be eligible for redemption by the email address that they were sent to and originally intended for.
The credit of a gift voucher does not accrue interest nor does it have a cash value. Gift vouchers are not refundable for cash once purchased.
If the credit of a gift voucher is insufficient for the order you wish to make, you may make up and pay in the difference through one of the other payment methods.
Promotional Voucher Codes
From time to time users will receive promotions in the form of unique codes that can be used at checkout to unlock certain discounts.
Promotional vouchers are issued at the discretion of eReads SA. Users do not have the right to promotional vouchers and cannot earn them. Promotional vouchers are issued with specific terms and conditions that regulate their use.
A voucher can only be used once and only one voucher can be used per checkout. Enter the voucher code on checkout and the value of the voucher will be deducted from the total amount in your shopping cart. The remaining balance, if any, must be paid by you.
Service Disruption
eReads SA reserves the right to limit or discontinue the functionality of the site. While we strive to be online continuously, we cannot exclude cases in which the webpage may be unavailable. In rare cases this may cause data loss.
eReads SA cannot be held liable for cross-browser incompatibilities that cause checkout or payment failures. We recommend that you browse with Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox.
Intellectual property
eReads SA and participating authors retain all copyright and other rights to services, as well as listings, information, images, and databases (the “Property Protection”). A modification, reproduction, publication, disclosure to third parties and /or exploitation of the protected property without the prior written consent is expressly prohibited by eReads SA.
The Protection of Data
Please see our Privacy Policy for more information on the policy of protecting user data and privacy.
Termination of Suspected Fraudulent Orders
eReads SA reserves the right to cancel or refuse to fulfil any order that it suspects of being fraudulent. This includes but is not limited to instances of suspected stolen credit cards.
In the event of a fraudulent purchase being placed on eReads SA, cardholders will be advised to initiate a chargeback via their bank in order to be refunded. eReads SA does not process refunds for orders suspected of fraud.
Changes in General Conditions
eReads SA reserves the right to revise these terms from time to time. If you disagree with the general terms we do not recommend use of our service. You will be required to accept the T’s & C’s every time you transact on our website.
We reserve the right to ban any individual uploader or website domain from using our services for any reason.
Returns & Refunds
No returns or refunds on digital content
As several variables can render digital content (including ebooks, .pdf and .epub files, audiobooks and .mp3 files) and the download links that serve such content problematic or defective; and given that it is not possible to return digital content or links for inspection; and therefore it is not possible to prove the existence or cause of any defect; alleged defects in digital content shall be treated as follows:
If you feel your digital content is defective in some way (missing pages, incorrect book, etc.), you must report the problem via email (info@ereads.co.za) within 1 month of purchase.
eReads SA will attempt to render assistance in good faith, including liaising with the relevant service providers. However, no refunds shall be issued unless eReads SA determines that a refund would be appropriate.
In particular, it is unlikely eReads SA will deem a refund appropriate if you have already downloaded the digital content. Consequently, if you believe an error has been made in your purchase, please report the problem to eReads SA before attempting another download of the digital content.
Limitations on replacement of digital content
If, within 6 months after purchase of digital content, you have lost it (for reasons including theft and /or replacement of devices hosting said content), you must report the problem to info@ereads.co.za.
If upon review of the situation eReads SA deems it appropriate to assist with the replacement of the digital content, eReads SA will attempt to render assistance in good faith, including liaising with the relevant service providers, to replace the content. However, eReads SA makes no guarantee that said content will be replaced.
It should be stressed that this policy applies to the 6 months following the date of purchase, not the date of download or receipt/use of the digital content; and that after the 6 months from the date of purchase has expired digital content will not be replaced under any circumstances.
Shipping and Delivery Policy
All products available on eReads are digital, and therefor are available as digital downloads only.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the correct format is selected for the given eReader. eReads cannot be held responsible for an incorrect format purchase.
Once payment has been received, the order will be activated and an activation email will be sent to the email address provided upon registration. This email provides a download link.
Free books will be available for download immediately.
Users can also access their orders by going to the My Accounts page and choosing the download link.
If the file doesn’t show, or if the file is corrupt, please contact us. Many authors convert their books themselves, and not all are necessarily tested on all versions of Kindles and iPads.
